🇮🇹 Matteo Chinosi

Matteo Chinosi is a retired Italian racing driver who competed in single-seater championships in Europe. He raced in the Formula Renault Eurocup and Formula 3 Euro Series between 2006 and 2009, a span of nine starts across both championships. Chinosi was a professional-level competitor in fields that mixed amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals in the same races.[1]

His career was brief. In the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2006, driving for RP Motorsport, he started twice and finished 26th in the season standings. Three years later he moved to the Formula 3 Euro Series with Prema Powerteam, taking seven starts across that campaign. His time in both series placed him among drivers of considerably stronger standing; he finished ahead of Brendon Hartley, who would go on to win the 2007 Formula Renault Eurocup and later take two world championships in prototype racing, on three occasions. He beat Valtteri Bottas once, a driver who won the 2008 Formula Renault Eurocup the following year and later raced in Formula 1. Against Henkie Waldschmidt, a regular opponent in both championships, Chinosi typically finished behind him.[2]
