Norbert Fischer is a Bronze-graded amateur endurance racing driver who spent twelve seasons racing shared-car multiclass competition at the Nürburgring. He raced primarily for Zierau Hochvolt by Mertens Motorsport in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, where he competed in the Cup 5 BMW one-make class, the SP 10 GT4 category, and the SP 7 production-based class. He also contested the Nürburgring 24 Hours in both the Cup 5 and VT2 Front categories. Fischer won three consecutive Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie championships with Pixum Team Adrenalin Motorsport in 2017, 2018 and 2019.[1]
Across 92 starts in the Langstrecken-Serie, Fischer took 37 wins and 57 podiums. He added a victory in the Nürburgring 24 Hours in 2019, his sole win in two appearances at that race. His thirteen-year record places him among the series' proven competitors in amateur and semi-professional endurance racing.[2]
The grid regularly mixed him with drivers of varying grades and experience. He finished ahead of Matt Campbell, an established professional and Platinum-graded driver who won back-to-back WEC LMGTE Am championships, once when their paths crossed. Against Jordan Pepper, another established professional and Gold-graded driver with extensive GT and IMSA experience, Fischer emerged ahead twice. His regular opponents included Torsten Kratz, an entry-level professional also graded Bronze, whom Fischer usually finished ahead of, and Dominik Thiemann, a competitive amateur and four-time Langstrecken-Serie V5 champion, against whom Fischer remained closely matched.
