Emmett Murphy is a semi-professional driver whose career sits in the competitive amateur band, with a rating of 3,245. This means he competed at the front of club racing and entry-level professional fields; quick enough to race among paid drivers, but not consistently beating them. Murphy's entire record consists of 12 starts in the Star Mazda Championship across three seasons from 2004 to 2006, all with LP Racing. He recorded no wins and no podium finishes, averaging a 26th-place finish.[1]

Murphy's competitive record against the regular field tells a mixed story.
