Patrick Wilmot is an entry-level professional, rated 3,626 on the Racer Rating scale, with an FIA Silver grade that sits below the sport's two full-professional grades. He races mainly in national, multiclass sportscar competition in the United States. His principal program is the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, a solo-driver series, where he runs the GSX class in GT4 cars for Swish Motorsports; he also drives shared-car endurance racing for Kingpin Racing, most recently in the Zenith Racing Series and the World Racing League.[1]
Across nine seasons of recorded racing since 2017, Wilmot has made 49 starts across six series for two wins and eleven podiums. The bulk of that work is in the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, where he has taken seven podiums from 28 starts for Swish Motorsports. He has also raced the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by Michelin for GB Racing-Racing Analytics, split GS and TCR class starts in the IMSA Pilot Challenge for Kingpin Racing, and won once with two further podiums from two starts in the Class 1 category of American Endurance Racing. In the 2026 Zenith Racing Series, still underway with Kingpin Racing, he has a win and two podiums from the rounds run so far and sits sixteenth in the championship standings; he has also made two starts this year in the World Racing League for the same team.[2]
Wilmot's most frequent opponents are Angus Rogers, a semi-professional and 2023 PCA Club Racing GTB1 champion, and Frank DePew, an entry-level professional and 2023 IMSA Pilot Challenge GS champion; he usually finishes ahead of both. Against stronger opposition, he has finished ahead of Linus Lundqvist, an established professional and 2022 Indy NXT champion, and Rodrigo Sales, an established professional with a European Le Mans Series record, on one occasion each.
