Patrick Wilmot is an entry-level professional driver from the United States, graded FIA Silver, a rung below the sport's full professional grades. He splits his racing between solo GT4 sprint competition and multiclass endurance racing with a shared car. His current ride is a BMW M4 GT4 in the GSX class of the IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge for Swish Motorsports, alongside further starts in the GS and TCR classes of the IMSA Pilot Challenge, the Zenith Racing Series and the World Racing League for Kingpin Racing.[1]
The VP Racing SportsCar Challenge has been the backbone of his career, three seasons of starts for Swish Motorsports that have produced regular podium finishes. He also won in American Endurance Racing, taking a win and two podiums from a two-race stint in 2020, and he has added another win in the 2026 Zenith Racing Series, where he sits 19th in the standings with a win and two podiums from the rounds run so far, that season still in progress. His earlier starts came in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup in 2017 and the IMSA Pilot Challenge from 2018. His main team across the database has been Split Decision Motorsports, a small operation with no wins to its name and Wilmot its strongest driver.[2]
Among the drivers he meets regularly, Wilmot usually finishes ahead of Angus Rogers, a semi-professional and 2023 PCA Club Racing GTB1 champion, and Frank DePew, an entry-level professional who won the 2023 IMSA Pilot Challenge GS title. He has also finished ahead, in single meetings, of Linus Lundqvist, an established professional and Indy NXT champion who has also won the GB3 and Formula Regional Americas titles, and of Rodrigo Sales, an established professional with European Le Mans Series experience.
