Richard Kent was a professional single-seater racing driver who competed in the Star Mazda Championship between 2008 and 2010, driving for Team GDT and Andersen Racing. He made 15 starts across three seasons and took three wins and five podiums in the national championship.[1]
Kent's record came across a field mixing amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals. He regularly finished ahead of Rusty Mitchell, a professional who went on to race in Indy NXT and IMSA WeatherTech, and Caio Lara, another Star Mazda regular. He also beat Conor Daly six times; Daly would go on to win the 2010 Star Mazda Championship and race in IndyCar and the GP3 Series. In his final partial season in 2010, Kent finished 18th in the championship standings across two rounds before retiring from racing.[2]
