Robert Ingram was a professional stock car racing driver who competed in NASCAR Xfinity between 1983 and 1988. He made 101 starts across six seasons, the vast majority on oval circuits, and recorded four podiums. His rating places him as a professional competitor.[1]
Ingram raced primarily against a field that mixed amateur and semi-professional entrants with established professionals. He finished behind regular opponents such as Dale Jarrett and Tommy Houston, who logged significantly more starts in the series, but scored podium finishes ahead of Sam Ard, a two-time NASCAR Xfinity champion, on five occasions and ahead of Elton Sawyer, who made 392 starts in the series, thirty times over. His final season came in 1988, when he took one start before retiring from the sport.[2]
