🇬🇧 Richard Lyons

Richard Lyons is a professional sportscar driver, FIA Gold graded, who raced exclusively in Japan's Super GT multiclass endurance championship across 11 seasons from 2008 to 2019. He drove GT300-class machinery, a mix of FIA GT3 cars and Japanese-built GT300 specials, primarily for Audi Team Hitotsuyama, accumulating 84 starts, 3 wins and 10 podiums over that span.[1]

Lyons took his three victories across the 2008–2019 period and finished 20th in the championship standings in his final season, 2019. His best finishes came in a championship where he competed regularly against established professionals; he was closely matched with Yuki Nakayama, a 2013 Super GT GT300 champion, but typically finished behind Tatsuya Kataoka, a three-time Super GT GT300 champion with extensive experience across endurance and single-seater racing. Lyons finished ahead of Sho Tsuboi, an elite professional Platinum-graded driver who became a multiple Super GT and Super Formula champion, on two occasions, and beat Alex Palou, an IndyCar champion, four times across their meetings in the series.[2]
