Teemu Nyman was an entry-level professional racing in the Formula Renault Eurocup, a single-class championship that mixed amateur and semi-professional drivers with graded professionals in the same field. His only indexed season came in 2005, when he competed for Motopark Oschersleben across the full championship of 13 rounds.[1]
Nyman finished 18th in the final standings. He typically ran behind the established professionals he raced most often, finishing behind Junior Strous and Carlo van Dam across multiple encounters. He was nonetheless faster than some considerably more experienced drivers; he beat Davide Valsecchi, who would go on to win the GP2 Series in 2012, on at least one occasion, and took a finish ahead of Jaime Alguersuari, an established professional who raced in Formula 1.[2]
