Tim Jennings is a semi-professional driver who competed in single-seater racing at the entry level of the professional ladder. His Racer Rating of 4,100 places him among professional drivers who typically contest national championship front-running fields, though his record shows he was racing in a competitive amateur environment against much stronger peers. He competed in the Star Mazda Championship across two seasons from 2002 to 2003, accumulating nine starts, four podium finishes, and no wins. His average finishing position of P6.2 across classified starts indicates consistent mid-field performance in a competitive field.[1]

Jennings regularly raced against drivers of varying calibre throughout his two-year career. He struggled markedly against the series' strongest competitors; he finished behind the 2002 Star Mazda champion Moses Smith on seven occasions but ahead of him twice in nine shared races, and he lost head-to-head records against semi-professional drivers John Mefford and Joe Pruskowski by wide margins. His wins against the field came against semi-professional and competitive amateur drivers such as John Olsen and Justin Pruskowski. Notably, he managed single victories against drivers who would go on to compete at considerably higher levels: he finished ahead of Scott Speed, an FIA Platinum-graded driver and future Formula Renault Eurocup champion, and Michael McDowell, an FIA Gold-graded driver and 2004 Star Mazda champion, each on one occasion.

Jennings retired from racing after 2003 with no championships to his name. His record shows a driver who competed respectably in a strong single-seater field but did not advance beyond his entry-level professional category. He has since stepped away from competitive motorsport.
