Wim Eyckmans is a Belgian established professional who raced open-wheel single-seaters in International Formula 3000 and IndyCar. His career on the indexed record spans three seasons from 1994 to 1999, with ten starts in Formula 3000 across 1994 and 1995, followed by a sole IndyCar entry in 1999 with Cheever Racing.[1]
Eyckmans competed against a field mixing amateurs and professionals in both series. In Formula 3000 he typically finished behind established professionals including 1995 champion Vincenzo Sospiri, who he raced regularly. His IndyCar appearance came at the Indianapolis 500, where he finished 25th in the championship standings for the season. He finished ahead of established professionals Eliseo Salazar, who had competed in Formula 1 and accumulate 53 IndyCar starts, and Scott Goodyear, who brought 39 IndyCar starts to the grid.[2]
