🇫🇷 Jérôme Policand

Jérôme Policand is a retired professional driver who raced across single-seater and sportscar championships between 1990 and 2023. An FIA Bronze-graded driver, he competed primarily in International Formula 3000, where he spent four seasons with DAMS and other operations, and returned to racing in 2023 for endurance campaigns in the Road to Le Mans and 24H Series GT3 class aboard GT3 machinery. His most recent work was with Team WRT and AKKODIS ASP Team.[1]

Policand's indexed record spans 41 starts across seven seasons. His most substantial effort came in International Formula 3000 between 1992 and 1995, where he accumulated 34 starts and a single podium finish; he was a regular competitor against established professionals including 1995 series champion Vincenzo Sospiri, typically finishing behind Sospiri but ahead of Paolo Delle Piane, another full-season driver in the category. He made brief appearances in the FIA GT Championship in 1997 and competed in Formula 3 Macau in 1990. A return to racing in 2023 brought two starts in Road to Le Mans, yielding a win and a podium.[2]

His strongest recorded finishes came against drivers of substantial credential. He beat David Coulthard, an established professional with 247 Formula 1 starts and a full International Formula 3000 campaign, once in their meetings. He also finished ahead of Jean-Christophe Boullion, who competed across 11 Formula 1 races and 17 in International Formula 3000. These results represent isolated occasions rather than a pattern; his career against the regular field placed him mid-pack in grids mixing amateur and professional competitors.
