William Langhorne is a professional driver competing in endurance racing and single-seat championships. Graded Bronze by the FIA, he raced across four series between 1998 and 2011: Formula 3000, IndyCar on American ovals, the FIA GT Championship in shared-car endurance racing, and the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in Porsche 911 GT3 Cup machinery. His career spanned 11 starts and one podium, the latter coming in the Nürburgring series in 2011.[1]
Langhorne's single podium came in German multiclass endurance racing, where he finished 16th in the championship standings. His international single-seat campaign came in Formula 3000, where he made five starts for BCN F3000 in 2003 against a field mixing semi-professionals and graded drivers; he also attempted three races in IndyCar on American ovals for Treadway and Associates Racing in 2002. His endurance racing included one appearance in the FIA GT Championship in 1998 and his later stint in Porsche Cup racing. Across these series he was closely matched with Giorgio Pantano, an established professional and former GP2 champion who also competed in Formula 1 and Formula 3000, though he more often finished behind Zsolt Baumgartner, who had 20 Formula 1 starts and 27 in Formula 3000. Langhorne's most competitive results came against Gil de Ferran, an IndyCar regular with 31 starts in the series, whom he beat twice.[2]
