Daniel Di Leo is a retired professional single-seater driver who raced in the Star Mazda Championship, a national amateur-to-professional field in the United States. He competed for Ross Smith Racing and Star Race Cars across four seasons from 2004 to 2007, recording 15 starts with one win and ten podiums.[1]
His most successful campaign came in 2007, when he took two podiums across three rounds and finished eleventh in the championship. Over his career he regularly finished ahead of entry-level professionals Dan Tomlin Jr. and John Faulkner, both of whom competed extensively in the same series. He beat the 2004 Star Mazda champion Michael McDowell twice despite McDowell's subsequent rise to established professional status and a career spanning NASCAR Cup and Xfinity series. He also finished ahead of Jonathan Bomarito, who later raced in IMSA WeatherTech and the World Endurance Championship.[2]
