Didier Defourny was a professional racing driver who competed in shared-car endurance racing. He raced in the FIA GT Championship from 1999 to 2004, spending six seasons in a field that mixed amateur and semi-professional drivers with graded professionals. His primary team across the series was GLPK Racing.[1]
Defourny made 17 starts in the FIA GT Championship and took one podium finish. He finished 35th in the final standings of his last season in 2004. Against established professionals who dominated the series, he proved competitive; he finished ahead of Formula 1 driver Alex Caffi once and ahead of Johnny Cecotto, another Formula 1 veteran, twice. He raced regularly against Luca Cappellari, who won the 2004 FIA GT Championship, and held closely matched results with him. Against Christian Ried, another professional endurance driver who would go on to win three WEC LMGTE Am titles, Defourny typically finished ahead.[2]
