Garret Drysdale competed as a semi-professional driver, the level at which amateurs reach the sharp end of club racing and entry-level professional fields. His Racer Rating of 3,270 places him at this tier; the rating reflects limited but real results against professional opposition. Drysdale's career comprised a single season in the Star Mazda Championship in 2003, where he started three races and failed to finish on the podium in any of them, averaging a finishing position of 15th across his classified results.[1]

The 2003 Star Mazda grid included several drivers of markedly higher calibre. Michael McDowell, who would go on to win the championship the following year, and Luis Schiavo, the 2003 champion, both raced Drysdale three times each and finished ahead of him in every encounter. Moses Smith, the 2002 Star Mazda champion, also completed a clean sweep against him. Drysdale's head-to-head record against the field was heavily weighted toward finishing positions behind rivals; he beat Ryan Justice once and Jamie Bach once across shared races, but accumulated three losses to each of those drivers as well.

Drysdale has been retired since 2003 and holds no recorded results beyond that single season of Star Mazda racing. His brief tenure in the series offered insufficient evidence of progression or competitive strength to establish a lasting presence in the professional racing ranks.
