Kyle Connery was an entry-level professional racing single-seater open-wheel cars. He competed in the Pro Mazda Championship, a national amateur-to-professional field, for three seasons from 2013 to 2015, making 25 starts for JDC Motorsports.[1]

Connery's career in Pro Mazda ran across the full 2013 to 2015 span. He finished 13th in the final 2015 championship standings, his highest placement across the three seasons. He scored podium finishes against some considerably stronger drivers; he beat Pato O'Ward, who would go on to become an elite professional and win the IMSA WeatherTech Pro Car championship and Indy NXT title, on two occasions, and he finished ahead of Luis Felipe Derani, an established professional from the World Endurance Championship, once.[2]

In the regulars he faced week to week, Connery typically finished ahead of Bobby Eberle, an entry-level professional who made 57 Pro Mazda starts, but usually ran behind Jose Gutiérrez, a professional graded FIA Silver who had added 13 IMSA WeatherTech starts to his Pro Mazda experience. JDC Motorsports, the team that ran 23 of his 25 starts, was an established outfit with 27 race wins across the index and a roster that included the established professional Connor De Phillippi among its 53 drivers.
