Luis Felipe Derani, known as Pipo, is a Brazilian driver competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Genesis Magma Racing. He comes from a well-established racing family, the son of the late Walter Derani and younger brother of Rafael Derani, both recognized figures in Brazilian motorsport. Before joining the Genesis program, Derani built a strong reputation in North American sports car racing, most notably as the 2021 IMSA DPi champion alongside Felipe Nasr, and as an overall winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2016 and the 12 Hours of Sebring on multiple occasions, including 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2023.[1]
In the WEC record, Derani remains without a championship or a race win, but has accumulated two career podiums across 13 starts, reflecting a competitive but still developing presence at the top level of endurance racing. His current Racer Rating of 5,791 places him 184th among active drivers on a scale where the world's elite sit between roughly 10,000 and 11,500, indicating a career still in its build-up phase within the series. Through the 2026 season, Derani has started three rounds without a win or podium, sitting 38th in the standings, a status consistent with a driver working to translate his sports car pedigree into results at the WEC level with Genesis Magma Racing.[2]
