Justin Piscitell is a semi-professional racing driver, FIA Silver-graded, who competed across eight seasons from 2016 to 2023 in national-level American motorsport. He raced primarily in single-driver sprint series, principally the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup for McCumbee McAleer Racing, where he took 41 of his 92 career starts. He also competed in the multiclass endurance series IMSA Pilot Challenge, driving shared cars in the GS and ST classes, and made shorter campaigns in NASA, SCCA Majors and SCCA Regionals, all national championships mixing amateur and semi-professional fields on multiclass grids.[1]
Across his career, Piscitell took one win and eight podiums. His strongest period came in 2021, when he took two podiums in three NASA starts and won in SCCA Majors. His most sustained campaign was the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup, where he accumulated three podiums over seven seasons; his best finish in the championship came in 2022 when he placed seventh. The TGRNA GR Cup North America, a single-make series, yielded two podiums from nineteen starts in 2023, his final indexed season. In IMSA Pilot Challenge, where entries spanned from amateurs to graded professionals racing in the same field, he made 25 starts without a podium finish.[2]
Piscitell's record came largely against semi-professional and amateur competition, though he twice finished ahead of Corey Heim, who would go on to win the NASCAR Truck championship three consecutive times, and finished ahead of Chase Briscoe, an ARCA champion and multiple-time NASCAR Cup driver, in three meetings. In the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup, where he was a regular for the full span of his campaign, he typically finished behind Gresham Wagner, a fellow Silver-graded driver who became Mazda Cup champion in 2021 and later won in TGRNA GR Cup.
