Justin Piscitell is an entry-level professional driver competing in amateur and semi-professional racing across multiple national championships in the United States. Graded Silver by the FIA for endurance racing, he spent the majority of his career with McCumbee McAleer Racing in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup, a spec-car series, and raced in the multiclass IMSA Pilot Challenge as a shared-car endurance driver. He has also competed in solo-driver national championships including NASA and SCCA competition. He is now retired from racing.[1]
Piscitell raced for eight seasons from 2016 through 2023, accumulating 94 starts across five series. He took a win at SCCA Majors level in 2021 and eight podiums overall; his most sustained campaign came in the Whelen Mazda MX-5 Cup, where he made 41 starts over seven seasons and finished seventh in the championship standings in his final year, 2022, with one podium from fourteen races. His shared-car experience in the IMSA Pilot Challenge accounted for 25 starts across seven seasons in the GS and ST classes; he also made brief appearances in TGRNA GR Cup and club-level SCCA competition.[2]
His record against regular opponents was mixed. He usually finished behind Gresham Wagner, a two-time Mazda MX-5 Cup champion who raced the same series over many more starts; he consistently beat Alex Bachoura, a fellow entry-level professional, in head-to-head racing in the Mazda Cup and NASA. Among the strongest drivers he encountered were Chase Briscoe, an elite professional and ARCA champion with a NASCAR Cup career of over two hundred starts, and Austin Cindric, an established professional with a full NASCAR Xfinity title; Piscitell finished ahead of each of them once, though both were significantly more accomplished across their broader racing careers.
