Kevin Kratz is an entry-level professional who raced single-seaters in two seasons of junior formula competition. He spent 2015 and 2016 competing in ADAC Formula 4 and Italian F4, driving for Jenzer Motorsport, a team that has fielded established drivers including elite professional Yuki Tsunoda.[1]
Kratz made 18 starts in ADAC Formula 4 across 2015 and 2016, then moved to Italian F4 in 2016 for eight races, finishing 29th in the championship standings. He regularly raced against Mick Schumacher and Job Van Uitert, both substantially stronger competitors; Schumacher would go on to win the FIA Formula 3 European championship and Formula 2, while Van Uitert progressed through the same junior formula ladder. Kratz finished ahead of established professionals Yifei Ye once and Felipe Drugovich twice, the latter of whom would later win Formula 2, though these were isolated results against drivers who consistently outpaced him across their shared seasons.[2]
