🇩🇪 Marius Zug

Marius Zug is a German professional driver who raced in European single-class and multiclass endurance series and a national touring championship from 2021 to 2023. Graded FIA Gold, he competed primarily for Attempto Racing in the DTM, and for Winward Racing in the GT World Challenge Europe, where he also made a single LMP3 prototype start in the European Le Mans Series.[1]

Over three seasons Zug accumulated 22 starts across DTM, GT World Challenge Europe and the European Le Mans Series. His main campaign came in the 2022 DTM season with Attempto Racing, where he contested the full calendar of 12 rounds in a field mixing amateurs with established professionals. He then moved to GT World Challenge Europe endurance racing with Winward Racing across 2022 and 2023, finishing 33rd in the championship standings in his final season. His single appearance in the European Le Mans Series came in 2021 as a co-driver in the LMP3 class.[2]

In his most regular competition Zug was closely matched with professional peer Arjun Maini, a DTM regular and former Formula 2 driver, while consistently finishing behind Luca Stolz, an established Platinum-graded professional who has run 68 starts in GT World Challenge Europe alone. He nonetheless finished ahead of Maro Engel, the 2024 GT World Challenge Europe champion and a Platinum-graded driver with 85 starts in that series, on two occasions, and beat Nico Müller, another Platinum-graded professional with 81 DTM starts to his name, in four race meetings. Attempto Racing, his primary employer across the indexed record, fielded 54 drivers total and counted an established professional in Kelvin van der Linde among its strongest competitors.
