Masayuki Kurihara is a professional driver who raced in Super GT, Japan's multiclass endurance championship, in which two drivers share each car through a race. He drove a GT300-class machine for Tomei Sports in the 2008 season.[1]
Kurihara made four starts in Super GT across 2008, finishing 21st in the championship standings. His single indexed season brought him into regular competition with established figures in the GT300 class, including twice-champion Kazuki Hoshino, who won the GT300 title that year. Kurihara finished behind Hoshino consistently. He also raced against Nobuteru Taniguchi, an established professional and three-time GT300 champion, and typically finished behind him as well. Among his finishes ahead of stronger drivers, Kurihara beat Yuhi Sekiguchi, an established professional who would go on to win the Super GT GT500 championship; he also finished ahead of Tetsuya Tanaka.[2]
