🇺🇸 Mike Vess

Mike Vess is an entry-level professional who raced Porsches in PCA Club Racing across six seasons from 2013 to 2019, competing solo in a multiclass national championship. He also contested endurance events in IMSA WeatherTech, IMSA Pilot Challenge and the 24H Series, sharing cars with co-drivers at events including Sebring and Daytona. His most recent racing came in PCA Club Racing in 2017.[1]

Vess took one win and four podiums across thirteen PCA Club Racing starts, and won once more in the 24H Series GT4 class in a shared-car entry for Classic BMW. He finished twenty-second in PCA Club Racing standings in his final season. In endurance racing he made four starts in IMSA WeatherTech for Flying Lizard Motorsports and three in IMSA Pilot Challenge for nolasport, recording no additional podiums in those series across seven starts. His total record stands at two wins and five podiums from twenty-one starts.[2]

He raced regularly against Doug Bielefeld, an entry-level professional, with closely matched results between them. Against John Goetz, a semi-professional and two-time PCA Club Racing champion, Vess typically finished behind. He finished ahead of Brendon Hartley, an established professional and FIA Platinum driver with championships in the Formula Renault Eurocup, WEC LMP1 and WEC Hypercar, and Timo Bernhard, also established professional and FIA Platinum with a WEC LMP1 title, each on single occasions.
