Randy Wars competed in a single season of racing in 2002, entering seven rounds of the Star Mazda Championship without securing a win or podium finish. His average finishing position of 23.7 places him squarely in the semi-professional band at 3,344 rating, a level that describes competitive amateur racers and those at the entry point of paid motorsport; drivers at this tier typically operate in club and pro-am fields rather than the front of national championships. Wars raced in a field that included the series champion Moses Smith and several other professional-calibre competitors, finishing well outside the points consistently.[1]

He finished behind Moses Smith six times in seven shared races, behind Justin Pruskowski six times in seven, and behind Guy Cosmo in all seven encounters. Wars retired after the 2002 season with seven championship-level starts to his record. His single year in the Star Mazda Championship did not lead to further racing activity on record.
