Nicolas Armindo is a retired professional endurance racing driver rated at the FIA Silver grade, competing in multiclass and single-class championships across Europe between 2003 and 2014. His racing career spanned eight starts in Formula 3 Euro Series, national and international GT racing, and the World Endurance Championship, where he drove GTE Am machinery for IMSA Performance Matmut.[1]
Armindo took two wins across his indexed record. His breakthrough came in 2010 when he won in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie's SP 7 class for Manthey Racing, and he added a second victory in WEC between 2012 and 2014. He accumulated three podium finishes overall, with two of those coming in WEC, where he finished 26th in the championship standings in his final season of 2014. His earlier work included a single FIA GT Championship start in 2005 and three Formula 3 Euro Series rounds with Saulnier Racing in 2003, a team that fielded four drivers without recording a win in the indexed database.[2]
In WEC, Armindo raced regularly against Christian Ried, a three-time LMGTE Am world champion who proved closely matched with him across their shared entries. He also finished ahead of Paolo Ruberti, an FIA Gold graded professional who had raced internationally in Formula racing and GT championships. Beyond WEC, Armindo finished ahead of Andreas Zuber, an established professional with significant single-seater experience including 50 Formula 3 Euro Series starts, and once beat Julien Canal, a two-time WEC LMP2 champion competing in his third discipline.
