Rik Koen is a professional racing driver competing in multiclass endurance sportscar racing at the international level. Graded FIA Silver, he races LMP2 and LMP3 prototypes in the European Le Mans Series for Rossa Racing by Virage, where he shares the car with co-drivers over the course of each race. His career on record spans three seasons from 2024 to 2026 across four championships in that discipline.[1]
Koen has taken one win and five podiums across 20 starts. His sole victory came in the European Le Mans Series, where he also took two further podium finishes from 11 races; he added a podium in the Le Mans Cup in 2024. He has run regularly in the supporting championships that feed toward Le Mans, starting in the Prototype Winter Series and Road to Le Mans before establishing himself as a fixture in the European Le Mans Series from 2025 onward.[2]
The field in which Koen races mixes amateur and semi-professional drivers with graded professionals, and he sits in the middle ground. He usually finishes behind Adrien Closmenil, the 2025 European Le Mans Series LMP3 champion, but runs closely matched with Marius Fossard, an entry-level professional at the same grade. More notably, he has outfinished established professionals of considerably greater seniority; he beat Richard Verschoor, a Gold-graded driver with 129 Formula 2 starts to his name, twice, and finished ahead of Louis Deletraz, the five-time European Le Mans Series champion and a driver with over 150 combined Formula 2 and international sportscar starts, on three occasions.
