Alessandro Latif is a retired entry-level professional who raced single-seaters and prototype endurance cars from 2012 to 2015. He competed in Formula Renault Eurocup, Pro Mazda Championship, IMSA WeatherTech and the World Endurance Championship, driving for teams including World Speed Motorsports and Flying Lizard Motorsports. His primary campaign was Pro Mazda in 2015, where he started 16 times for World Speed Motorsports.[1]
Latif's indexed record spans three seasons and 25 starts across four series. In Formula Renault Eurocup he made six starts in 2012 against a field mixing amateur and professional entrants. His main push came in Pro Mazda in 2015, where he spent a full season at a team that fielded 28 drivers across its history and had won twice in the championship. In endurance racing he made two IMSA WeatherTech starts in 2014 for Flying Lizard Motorsports, a multiclass LMP2 and GT field, and one WEC appearance that same year, finishing 23rd in the championship standings.[2]
In Pro Mazda, Latif raced regularly against stronger drivers. He typically finished behind both Pato O'Ward, an elite professional and 2017 IMSA WeatherTech and 2018 Indy NXT champion, and Santiago Urrutia, who won the 2015 Pro Mazda Championship. Latif finished ahead of O'Ward once during the season; he also beat Pierre Gasly, a Platinum-graded professional and 2013 Formula Renault Eurocup champion, once in their careers.
