Benjamin Pedersen is a professional racing driver rated 4,707 on the Elo scale. He races sportscar endurance racing for Vasser Sullivan Racing in IMSA, where he holds an FIA Silver grading; his recent career has also included single-seater and Indy-series competition. In IMSA he drives both GT3 and LMP2 prototypes in a multiclass championship shared by five categories of car.[1]

Pedersen's early career ran through the North American ladder and European single-seaters. He won seven races across 20 starts in Formula Regional Americas between 2018 and 2020, taking 13 podiums in a field mixing amateurs and professionals. He moved to GB3 in the British single-seater series in 2019 with Double R Racing, taking two wins and five podiums from 42 starts through 2020. His Indy Lights campaign in Indy NXT spanned 2021 and 2022 with Global Racing Group, yielding one win and 11 podiums from 34 starts. He stepped up to the IndyCar Series in 2023, running 17 rounds for A. J. Foyt Racing before moving into IMSA sportscar racing in 2025. Across his IMSA starts to date he has taken one win and three podiums from 15 starts and is competing in the European Le Mans Series LMP2 category.[2]

His regular opponents in the open-wheel series included Sting Ray Robb, a Indy Pro 2000 champion and professional with 68 IndyCar starts, against whom Pedersen was closely matched, and Kyle Kirkwood, a 2021 Indy NXT champion and elite professional, usually ahead of him in their shared races. Against the broader field Pedersen has finished ahead of Pato O'Ward, an elite professional and IMSA champion who races at the highest levels of sportscar and open-wheel competition, twice, and Christian Lundgaard, an elite professional who competed in Formula 2, once. His professional calibre has shown most clearly in the open-wheel context where he competed with established international drivers; his transition to full-time sportscar racing in 2025 places him among a multiclass field spanning amateur endurance racers through graded professionals.
