Josh Mason is a British racing driver, born Joshua Mason Akinwunmi, who progressed through European single-seater ranks before moving into American open-wheel competition. Prior to his Indy NXT career, he built a resume that included race wins in Formula Regional Oceania, the Euroformula Open Championship, and the BRDC British F3 Championship, establishing himself as a driver capable of running at the front in feeder-series machinery. He also gained top-level exposure with a partial season in FIA Formula 2 with PHM Racing in 2023, a step that reflected the promise shown earlier in his career.[1]

Mason's Indy NXT tenure with Abel Motorsports has so far been limited in scope, with two career starts and no wins or podiums to date, leaving his championship tally at zero. His 2026 season produced the same pattern across two rounds, no wins and no podiums, placing him seventeenth in the standings. Racer DB lists his current Racer Rating at 2,400, ranking him 4485th among active drivers, and his status is now recorded as retired, closing out a career that carried notable junior-formula success but only a brief chapter in Indy NXT.[2]
