Bernhard van Oranje is a professional racing driver who competed in the FIA World Touring Car Cup, a single-class international championship that fields amateur, semi-professional and graded professional drivers together. He raced for Bas Koeten Racing, a small team that has won three races across the index. His only indexed season was 2018, when he started three rounds of the WTCUP and finished 30th in the championship standings.[1]
Van Oranje raced against established professionals including two-time WTCUP regulars and multiple world champions. He finished behind Thed Björk, the 2017 World Touring Car Championship winner, in their meetings, and similarly found himself behind Esteban Guerrieri, who won the FIA World Touring Car Cup in 2019. Van Oranje did finish ahead of Yvan Muller, a four-time World Touring Car Championship winner, once during the season.[2]
