Karl Massaad is an entry-level professional who raced in British Formula 4, a national single-seater championship that fields amateur, semi-professional and graded professional drivers together. He drove for Double R Racing, one of the grid's established operations.[1]
Massaad's indexed career consists of a single season in 2017, when he started 22 races and took two podiums en route to ninth in the British F4 championship standings. He finished ahead of established professional Alex Quinn twice during the season. He regularly raced against Oscar Piastri, who would go on to win the 2021 Formula 2 championship and compete in Formula 1, and Logan Sargeant, a Formula 3 and Formula 2 regular; he typically finished behind both.[2]
