Taku Bamba is an entry-level professional racing driver, FIA Silver graded, competing in international multiclass endurance and sprint racing. He drives Porsche 911 GT3 Cup machinery in the 24H Series for Norik Racing by HRT Performance and races GT3 cars in the GT Winter Series. His main career record comes from Super GT, where he contested the GT300 class in a shared-car format across nine seasons from 2009 to 2018, driving for SAITAMA TOYOPET Green Brave.[1]
Bamba took three wins and three podiums across 46 starts in the indexed series. His career highlight came in 2011 when he won the Super GT GT300 championship with Good Smile Racing with Team UKYO. Through the 2009 to 2018 span in Super GT he finished as high as 16th in the championship standings in 2018. His results have included victories over much stronger opposition; he has beaten Sho Tsuboi, an elite professional and multiple Super GT and Super Formula champion, three times and Kenta Yamashita, an established professional and 2024 Super GT GT500 champion, twice.[2]
In the regular Super GT fields Bamba sat closely matched against Kazuki Hoshino, a professional and 2010 Super GT champion, and Hiroki Katoh, a professional with 112 and 124 Super GT starts respectively. His recent activity has moved him into the 24H Series and GT Winter Series, competing in 2025 and 2026 in what are typically mixed grids of amateur, semi-professional and graded professionals sharing the same races.
