Katsumasa Chiyo is an elite professional racing driver competing in Super GT, where he has been a factory driver for NISSAN since 2012. Graded FIA Gold, he drives GT500-class machinery in what amounts to a full-time commitment spanning fifteen seasons. His record across endurance and single-seater racing totals 101 starts, 7 wins and 19 podiums.[1]

The bulk of his career has been in Super GT, where he has accumulated 95 starts, 7 wins and 17 podiums across the full run from 2012 to the present. He won the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup and the Bathurst 12 Hour as a guest entrant, and holds a rating of 5,981. The 2026 Super GT season is ongoing; he has taken two podiums so far from four rounds run to date. A brief excursion into the 24H Series, a multiclass endurance championship mixing amateurs and professionals across its field, yielded one start; he also competed in Formula 3 Macau and the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie, a multiclass GT3 endurance championship in Germany.[2]

In Super GT, Chiyo races a field that includes multiple Platinum-graded professionals and recent champions. He has finished ahead of Sho Tsuboi, an elite professional and twice recent Super GT champion, and multiple times beaten Tadasuke Makino, the 2020 and 2025 GT500 champion and a Platinum-graded driver. Against his most regular opponents in the series, Yuhi Sekiguchi and Bertrand Baguette, both Gold-graded established professionals and former GT500 champions in their own right, his record stands closely matched.
