Takuya Shirasaka was an entry-level professional driver in Japanese national multiclass endurance racing. He competed in Super GT from 2012 to 2015 for Pacific Racing Team, racing FIA GT3 and Japanese GT300 specification cars in the GT300 class across 26 starts. He later made four starts in Road to Le Mans between 2017 and 2018 for TKS, piloting LMP3 prototypes in that series' prototype class. Shirasaka held an FIA Bronze grading, the amateur and gentleman driver category in endurance racing.[1]
His Super GT career ran four seasons with a best championship finish of 22nd in 2015, his final year in the series. Across his 30 indexed starts he took no wins or podium finishes. His work came primarily with Tomei Sports, which fielded him in 12 of those starts; the team competed without recorded victories across the index and cycled through a large driver roster.[2]
Shirasaka regularly faced established professionals in a mixed field. Nobuteru Taniguchi and Tatsuya Kataoka, both multiple Super GT GT300 champions and considerably stronger drivers, were frequent competitors against whom he typically finished behind. He did finish ahead of Tomoki Nojiri, a two-time Super Formula champion, on three occasions, and took a result ahead of Kazuki Hiramine, an FIA Gold-graded Gold driver and 2022 Super GT GT500 champion, once in that period.
