Brian Scott is an established professional who raced primarily in NASCAR Xfinity for Richard Childress Racing between 2009 and 2017, a single-class stock car championship run on oval tracks and occasional road courses in the United States. The field mixed amateur and semi-professional drivers with graded professionals in the same races. Scott made 210 starts in Xfinity over nine seasons, earning one win and 12 podiums, supplemented by five starts in NASCAR Truck in 2012 that yielded one win and one podium.[1]

His record places him in the competitive middle of the Xfinity field. Scott finished ahead of Eric McClure and Jeremy Clements with regularity; both were regular opponents across their shared seasons, McClure an entry-level professional and Clements a full professional with over 500 starts in the series. Scott also finished ahead of Denny Hamlin and Ryan Blaney, both of whom competed in Xfinity while building careers in the NASCAR Cup Series. Hamlin, an elite professional, and Blaney, an elite professional and the 2023 Cup Series champion, were occasional entrants to Xfinity alongside their top-tier commitments, making Scott's finishes ahead of them notable within the context of their part-time schedules in that series. His single career win came in the Truck Series in 2012, a lower-profile championship where he ran all five of his starts on ovals.[2]
