Jeff Bucknum is a professional driver who raced in North American single-seater and open-wheel championships between 2003 and 2006. He competed in the Star Mazda Championship and IndyCar, driving for A.J. Foyt Enterprises in the latter series.[1]
Bucknum took a podium finish in his single indexed Star Mazda start in 2003, finishing 13th in the championship standings that season. He moved into IndyCar in 2005 and 2006, making 11 starts over two years, the majority on oval tracks. His record there placed him regularly against established professionals; he finished behind Scott Dixon and 2005 IndyCar champion Dan Wheldon with consistency, though he managed to finish ahead of Dixon twice and beat Giorgio Pantano, a driver with an extensive career that included 14 Formula 1 starts and the 2008 GP2 Series championship, once.[2]
