Daniel Zampieri is an Italian professional racing driver, FIA Gold graded, who raced single-seater championships from 2006 to 2012. He competed in Formula Renault Eurocup and Formula V8 3.5 for BVM Target and started once in Formula 3 Macau for Prema Powerteam. His career across these series yielded three podiums from fifty starts.[1]
Zampieri's indexed record spans seven seasons. He took one podium in Formula Renault Eurocup across twenty-four starts between 2006 and 2008, then moved to Formula V8 3.5 for three seasons from 2010, where he scored two podiums in twenty-five starts. He also made a single appearance in the 2009 Formula 3 Macau meeting. His final season of record racing came in 2012, when he started one round of Formula V8 3.5 and finished twenty-third in the championship standings.[2]
Zampieri raced regularly against drivers who would go on to establish themselves at the highest level. Daniel Ricciardo, the 2010 Formula V8 3.5 champion who later raced Formula 1, was a frequent opponent in the series; Zampieri usually finished behind him but beat him eight times. Brendon Hartley, who won the 2007 Formula Renault Eurocup and later raced in Formula 1 and endurance racing, was similarly a consistent competitor in Zampieri's field. He finished ahead of Edoardo Mortara, a Formula 3 Euro Series champion and subsequent Formula E regular, once during their time in single-seaters.
