Edward Cheever competes under the Italian flag in the FIA World Endurance Championship, currently driving for Ziggo Sport Tempesta. The Cheever name carries long-standing recognition in international motorsport, most notably through Edward McKay Cheever Jr., who competed in Formula One from 1978 to 1989 and in American open-wheel racing through CART and IndyCar, capping that career with victory at the Indianapolis 500 in 1998. The current Edward Cheever's own record reflects a separate, present-day career built within sports car racing rather than open-wheel competition.[1]

Across two career starts in WEC, Cheever has yet to record a win or a podium finish, and his Racer Rating of 3,433 places him 784th among active drivers on a scale where the leading competitors sit between 10,000 and 11,500. In the 2026 season he has appeared in a single round without a win or podium, sitting 188th in the standings. With no championships to his name and a limited number of starts logged so far, Cheever remains an active but early-stage competitor whose statistical footprint in the series is still developing.[2]
