🇫🇷 Jacques Nicolet

Jacques Nicolet is a professional racing driver competing in multiclass endurance racing. He spent six seasons from 2012 to 2017 in the FIA World Endurance Championship, where he raced LMP2 prototypes in a shared-car format alongside professional and amateur competitors. Graded FIA Bronze, he was based at Eurasia Motorsport for his WEC campaign and most recently with OAK Racing, which he came to own and drive for.[1]

Nicolet accumulated 20 starts across the WEC with four podium finishes. His best result came in 2017, when he completed one round and finished 28th in the championship standings. Throughout his time in the series, he raced regularly alongside established professionals including Roman Rusinov, a two-time WEC LMP2 champion, and Ricardo Gonzalez, though both typically outpaced him. He did secure finishes ahead of considerably stronger drivers on single occasions, including Ryo Hirakawa, a two-time Super GT GT500 champion and later a WEC Hypercar champion, and Bruno Senna, a former Formula 1 driver and 2017 WEC LMP2 champion.[2]

Nicolet's record places him in a field where Gold and Platinum graded professionals compete alongside amateurs and semi-professionals in the same races. His four podiums in 20 starts represent midfield performance in that company. As chairman of Altarea SCA and founder of Onroak Automotive, later rebranded Ligier Automotive, Nicolet built a parallel career in motorsport ownership and development while racing as an amateur gentleman driver.
