🇩🇰 David Heinemeier Hansson

David Heinemeier Hansson is a professional endurance racing driver competing in international multiclass championships. Graded FIA Silver, he races LMP2 prototypes and GTE cars for Nielsen Racing in the WEC, the world's premier sportscar series, where he has accumulated 60 starts since 2012. He also competes in IMSA WeatherTech in the United States and has raced in the European Le Mans Series, campaigns that span shared-driver endurance events where grids mix amateur and professional entrants.[1]

Across 14 indexed seasons and 94 starts, Hansson has taken seven wins and 25 podiums. His primary record lies in the WEC, where he has driven for teams that won two manufacturer championships during his tenure; Aston Martin Racing took the 2014 LMGTE Am title with him on the roster for six starts, and he contributed three starts to Jackie Chan DC Racing's 2019 LMP2 championship. In IMSA WeatherTech he has taken three podiums from 24 starts in GTD and LMP2 machinery, and he scored a podium in the European Le Mans Series across ten starts with Nielsen Racing. His 2026 season has begun with one round of WEC racing completed so far.[2]

Hansson races in company that includes established professionals graded Platinum and multiple world champions. Julien Canal, a two-time WEC LMP2 champion, is among his regular WEC opponents; Hansson usually finishes behind him. Against François Perrodo, a Bronze-graded driver and two-time WEC LMGTE Am champion, he has been closely matched in head-to-head competition. He has finished ahead of António Félix da Costa, the 2019 Formula E champion and 2022 WEC LMP2 champion, twice in their meetings, and once ahead of Maro Engel, the 2024 GT World Challenge Europe champion. His recent activity includes entries in the Rolex 24 at Daytona and preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which he cited as a childhood ambition.
