He raced for Petrobras Junior Team during his indexed career, which spanned 1998 and 1999 across 14 starts.[1]
Battistuzzi's international career began after he won both the German and European Formula Opel championships in 1997. In his two seasons of Formula 3000 racing, he accumulated 14 starts and finished 25th in the championship standings in 1999, the final year of his indexed activity.[2]
He raced regularly against the series' established professionals, including Nick Heidfeld, who won the 1999 Formula 3000 championship and went on to compete in Formula 1 and Formula E, and Gonzalo Rodríguez, who made 27 Formula 3000 starts. Battistuzzi typically finished behind both drivers. He took individual results against established professionals including Fabrizio Gollin, later a multiple-start FIA GT Championship competitor, and Jason Watt.
