Mervyn Kool is an entry-level professional who raced in single-seater competition. His only indexed season was 2006, when he drove for AR Motorsport in the Formula Renault Eurocup, a championship mixing amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals in the same field.[1]
Kool made four starts in the Eurocup that year and finished 24th in the championship standings. He regularly raced against established professionals including Jaime Alguersuari and Bertrand Baguette, a two-time series champion and later Super GT champion. Kool finished ahead of Alguersuari on four occasions and also outfinished Edoardo Mortara, a Formula 3 Euro Series champion who went on to race in Formula E, twice across their meetings.[2]
