🇳🇱 Peter Kox

Peter Kox is a professional endurance racing driver from the Netherlands, rated FIA Silver in the sportscar and endurance grades. He races in the 24H Series, a multiclass international championship where GT3, GTX and SP2 cars share the track across long-distance events, for Saalocin by Kox Racing, the team he owns. His career on record spans from 1988 to the present across 59 starts in nine seasons of indexed racing, the bulk of them in the FIA GT Championship during its run from 1997 to 2009.[1]

In the FIA GT Championship, Kox took three wins and six podiums across 44 starts, the longest campaign of his recorded career. He has raced in the 24H Series since 2018, where he has one win and three podiums from eight starts in its mixed-class grid. He also made brief appearances in Le Mans Cup and Road to Le Mans in 2017, and started a single race in International Formula 3000 in 1988.[2]

Kox's regular opponents in the FIA GT field included Mike Hezemans, a fellow Silver-graded professional with 117 starts in that championship, and Jean-Denis Deletraz, a Bronze-graded driver who also raced International Formula 3000 and the World Endurance Championship. Against drivers of much stronger credentials, he finished ahead of Ralf Schumacher, a Gold-graded former Formula 1 driver, and Laurens Vanthoor, a Platinum-graded champion of the IMSA WeatherTech and WEC Hypercar classes. He raced for BMW Motorsport in 11 of his starts, part of a team that fielded established professionals and won across multiple seasons.
