Ramiro Scuncio was a Chilean single-seater driver who competed in the 2006 Star Mazda Championship, a feeder series for professional open-wheel racing. His rating of 3,713 places him in the semi-professional category; this is the level of drivers who win in pro-am and one-make classes and hold mid-pack finishes among full professionals. Scuncio's record reflects this standing: across ten starts in the Star Mazda field, he finished on average in 17th place, with no wins or podiums.[1]

Scuncio raced against a cohesive field of competitive drivers in his sole season. The 2006 Star Mazda grid included Adrian Carrio, who won that year's championship, as well as Ryan Justice and Mike Potekhen, all established professionals rated above 4,100. Scuncio finished behind these three drivers in the clear majority of their shared races; his head-to-head record against the grid was consistently unfavourable, with only occasional results that outpaced stronger rivals. He finished ahead of Carrio once in ten meetings, ahead of Justice twice, and managed one notable result against FIA Silver graded driver John Pew, whom he outfinished on six occasions. His strongest single performance came when he beat FIA Gold graded Mark Wilkins, the 2019 IMSA Pilot Challenge TCR champion, in a shared race.

Scuncio raced for Andersen Racing Team throughout his career. His 2006 season proved to be his last; he has since retired from competition.
