🇸🇪 Fredrik Ekblom

Fredrik Ekblom is a retired professional racing driver from Sweden who competed in single-seater and touring car championships. His indexed career spans from 1990 to 2016, with four starts in Formula 3 Macau and twenty starts in the World Touring Car Championship, all for Polestar Cyan Racing in the latter series. He finished 13th in the 2016 World Touring Car Championship standings.[1]

In the World Touring Car Championship, Ekblom raced regularly from 2007 to 2016 against a field that mixed amateur and semi-professional entrants with established professionals. He was closely matched with Gabriele Tarquini, a 2009 World Touring Car champion with extensive experience across single-seaters and touring cars, but usually finished behind Robert Huff, who won the championship in 2012. Ekblom beat Thed Bjork five times across their meetings; Bjork, then less established than he would become, went on to win the 2017 World Touring Car Championship title. He also finished ahead of Olivier Panis, an established professional with a long Formula 1 career and earlier Formula 3 Macau experience, in three races.[2]
