Lichtner-Hoyer was a professional endurance racing driver who competed in the FIA GT Championship between 2006 and 2009, piloting shared-drive sportscars for Jetalliance Racing. He made 24 starts across four seasons in a mixed field encompassing amateur through graded professional entries.[1]
His record in the championship yielded a single podium finish from 24 starts. He finished 29th in the championship standings in his final season, 2009. Throughout his career he was regularly outpaced by established professionals including Bert Longin and Mike Hezemans, both significantly more frequent competitors in the series. He did finish ahead of Michael Bartels, the three-time FIA GT Championship winner, on three occasions, and shared the spoils once with 1992 Formula 1 World Champion Nigel Mansell.[2]
Jetalliance Racing, the team fielding Lichtner-Hoyer for the majority of his starts, was a competitive midfield operation that accumulated 12 race wins across the championship and included established professional Karl Wendlinger among its drivers.
