🇫🇷 Philippe Alliot

Philippe Alliot is an established professional who raced single-seaters and endurance sports cars across thirteen seasons from 1984 to 2004. He competed primarily in Formula 1, where he spent a decade with Larrousse, and also raced in International Formula 3000 and the FIA GT Championship.[1]

Alliot made 110 Formula 1 starts for Larrousse across two separate periods, from 1984 through 1990 and again from 1993 to 1994, finishing 20th in the 1994 championship standings. His single win came in International Formula 3000 in 1985 driving for Equipe Oreca. He took two career podiums across all series. In the FIA GT Championship endurance series between 2000 and 2004, he competed in 20 races and claimed one podium finish with Force One Racing.[2]

His Formula 1 career placed him in a field including multiple world champions. He was a regular opponent of Alain Prost, the four-time champion, though he typically finished behind him; he nonetheless beat Prost on three occasions. He raced closely with established professional Riccardo Patrese, a 257-start Formula 1 veteran, and finished ahead of Nelson Piquet, the three-time champion, once. Larrousse was a modest operation that produced no race wins across its entire history while fielding twelve drivers, among them established professional Michele Alboreto.
