Mike Nazaruk was an American racing driver who competed in Formula 1 between 1951 and 1954, accumulating three starts for Kurtis Kraft. He scored a single podium finish across his Grand Prix career. His three-race sample was small but included competition against drivers of substantial professional standing; he finished ahead of Duane Carter, Sam Hanks, Tony Bettenhausen, and Jack McGrath on separate occasions, all of whom were accomplished drivers within the period's racing hierarchy. His average finishing position of 3.5 across classified starts reflected competitive but inconsistent results at the highest single-seater level of the era.[1]
Nazaruk's F1 tenure was brief and his final recorded appearance came in 1954, when he finished 18th in the only race entered that season. His career placed him in the upper-middle tier of the professional driving field of his time, though the limited number of starts meant his true potential in Grand Prix racing remained largely unexplored. The Kurtis Kraft operation in which he competed fielded multiple drivers of note throughout its existence and would ultimately be best remembered for Jim Rathmann's performances.
