Shogo Mitsuyama was a professional endurance racing driver competing in multiclass championships where amateur and semi-professional entrants shared the track with graded professionals. He raced primarily in Super GT between 2008 and 2021, piloting GT300-class cars for Yogibo Drago Corse, and made five additional starts in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie in 2012 and 2013. Mitsuyama held an FIA Silver grading, which placed him below the full-professional Gold and Platinum grades in sportscar racing.[1]
Across 58 starts over 13 seasons, Mitsuyama competed in a field that included multiple Super GT champions. He regularly faced Nobuteru Taniguchi, a three-time GT300 champion and established professional, as well as Kazuki Hoshino, a two-time GT300 champion, and typically finished behind both. He finished ahead of Kenta Yamashita, an established professional and three-time GT500 champion, on two occasions, and twice beat Tomoki Nojiri, a two-time Super Formula champion. His final indexed season was 2021, when he finished 18th in the Super GT championship standings across eight rounds.[2]
