William Sawalich is an established professional racing stock cars in national championships across multiple series for Joe Gibbs Racing and its affiliated operations. He competes full-time in NASCAR Xfinity, part-time in the ARCA Menards Series and NASCAR Truck Series, and races primarily on ovals across all three. His machinery is a Toyota; in Xfinity he drives the No. 18 Supra, in ARCA Menards the No. 18 Camry, and in Truck he shares multiple Toyota Tundras with other drivers.[1]
Sawalich has won 26 races across 155 starts since 2022. His record in ARCA has been his strongest: he won the ARCA Menards East title in 2023 and followed it with a full ARCA Menards Series championship in 2024, taking 13 wins and 22 podiums in 32 starts in the main series and seven wins from 17 starts in the East. His success in ARCA translates to a secondary role in Xfinity, where he has taken one win from 62 starts, and a minimal presence in Truck, where he has not won in 27 starts. The Xfinity campaign has produced seven podiums; Truck has yielded none. His ARCA Menards West record shows five wins from ten starts, a notably higher strike rate than his main-series work but from a small sample.[2]
The fields Sawalich races are mixed-level national championships that field amateurs, semi-professionals and graded professionals on the same grid. He runs closely against Dean Thompson, a professional with extensive Truck and Xfinity experience, and Jesse Love, an established professional who won the 2023 ARCA Menards Series and the 2025 Xfinity title; the two are closely matched in head-to-head racing. Sawalich has finished ahead of Christopher Bell and Ty Gibbs, both elite professionals and former champions, once each.
