Indy Dontje is an established professional racing driver competing in international multiclass endurance series at the GT3 level. He holds an FIA Silver grading, positioned below the full-professional Gold and Platinum grades. His primary rides are with Winward Racing in IMSA WeatherTech, where he races Mercedes-AMG GT3 machinery in the GTD class, and with Lionspeed GP in the Nürburgring-based championships.[1]
Dontje's core record spans IMSA WeatherTech and IMSA Pilot Challenge from 2018 onwards, where he has accumulated eight wins and 16 podiums across 44 starts in those two series. His most consistent results come in IMSA WeatherTech, where he has taken eight wins from 20 starts; in Pilot Challenge he picked up six podiums from 24 starts in the production-based GT4 GS class. He has also contested the 24H Series endurance championship, taking two wins and three podiums from seven starts, and raced the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie for Lionspeed GP from 2015 through 2024 with two podiums from 14 starts.[2]
Dontje's regular opponents in IMSA are professionals of Gold grading: Trent Hindman, a two-time IMSA champion, and Robby Foley, the 2023 Pilot Challenge champion and 2025 GT World Challenge America Pro-Am champion. Against both he has run closely matched. His occasional finishes ahead of elite professionals such as Kyle Kirkwood, an Indy NXT champion and 86-time IndyCar starter, place him among the accomplished drivers in his field, though his career is largely built on steady performance against established peers rather than dominance at any single level.
